The series this week was painted on acrylic primed gesso boards. Here are two of the primed boards. The rabbit was painted on the board to the right.
This image was sketched in with thin transparent oxide red. Often, I leave eyes until late in the painting. However, with the high contrast background, I decided to paint in the eye to orient the rabbit.
I laid in the lightest lights and some of the darks to be able to determine the "inbetween" colors
I "erased" the muzzle, thinking that the drawing was inaccurate. "Erasing" was accomplished with a papertowel dipped into gamsol.
