I am a consummate listmaker. Neat, small, handwriting covers colored pieces of paper at the start of each day. (I am back to writing on paper rather than using my ipad or computer, I found that I need to "connect" with the physical process of writing.) However, often I misplace the list. Because some lists also have my week's appointments, this loss is unsettling. I have used planner books in years past, so I decided that I would find a new style for 2017. While I was surfing pinterest and facebook for painting inspiration, a description of an interesting planner kept showing up in my feed. Perhaps this was excellent targeted marketing. Never-the-less, I was curious. I read the description, then the reviews and ultimately purchased this "Law of Attraction" planner. This planner is unique with its positive (guided) goal setting. It incorporates habits and reminders for daily gratitude, meditation and exercise. (Gratitude, exercise and meditation are important for healthful aging (I will discuss this correlation in later posts)). Furthermore, this planner attaches rewards to achieving goals (therefore the goal becomes postively reinforced, instead of being a chore (that will be abandoned)). I also love the inspirational quotes that accompany each week.
The planner's opening page begins with a quote from Ghandi
"Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviours.
Keep your behaviours positive, because your behaviours become your habits.
Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive, because your values become youe destiny".

I will write a review of mine and how well it helped with 2017 goals later this year.
