Day two of the challenge. I admit I painted this study ahead.
I spent today at a fabulous seminar about reducing stress and building resiliency.
Two of the presenters spoke to the power of saying "No" to limit stress in our lives. Jon Seskevich gave great examples to actually accomplish this. The first method he called "The Broken Record". In this approach you repeat "no" to a request without engaging or answering extraneous comments or questions. Just answer "no" like a broken record to anything you are asked.
The second method he called "mindful listening" while repeating no. His example was "Jon, I am hoping you will bake for the church bake sale" Jon "I cannot bake for the sale" "But Jon, you make the best chocolate cake" " I know that I make the best chocolate cake, but I cannot bake for the sale" etc.
"Play" was also on the checklist for building resiliency . Where better to play than at the beach with a bucket and a shovel?
